When Leisure Is a Load

Leisure is a luxury that many possess -

It’s a gift that development has brought;

Leisure is a gift that few can enjoy

For they don’t know how to benefit

From the amazing treasure they have got.

Leisure brings with it a valuable thing

That is simply known as time;

But the value of time most fail to see

And seldom hear the tick-tock or the chime.

The gift of leisure and time becomes

A heavy burden for most to bear;

What should have been an occasion to celebrate

Becomes wrought with unending worries and cares.

Leisure and time are a luxury for those

Who have learnt to observe all things

And to revel in the secret joy

That observing life always brings.

When we give our attention to life,

Life turns its attention to us,

And that which has been running at a loss so long

Begins to yield a dividend and soon turns to plus.
