Humble Gifts

The earth humbly accepts a seed And keeps it close to its heart And then it turns the seed to a plant And that is merely, just a start. In time the plant turns into a tree For its roots stay embedded in the earth Which accepted the seed for what it was And never questioned what it was worth. As long as the tree keeps its roots embedded It takes carbon dioxide from the air Turning the gas into life giving oxygen Because it stayed rooted and cared to care. Life is about taking the humblest gifts And giving them a place in one’s heart That will surely sustain the gift and give it Wings to play a much bigger part. - rajyogi (Rajesh Kanoi)
