Pain in many ways is just a name We give to experiences we don’t accept And we blame Sometimes others, sometimes ourselves and sometimes a maker somewhere That we know is somehow there. Pain is just a name To somehow shame Someone, somewhere, somehow As we continue to flit between past and future, Almost never anchored in the now. Painful things may have happened As joyful things too happened in the past But the joys disappeared in some mist While pain stayed and continues to last.
