Time Is In a Rush

Time is in a rush
And it’s trying to finish its task
To shake us all out of stupor
Before we’re laid in the cask.
Yes, Time is in a rush
And casks may not be made
For nature is running out of patience
And resources - it’s ready for the raid.
Mother Earth has been kind for ever
But it’s a mother to not just us all
For she has birthed many others too
And must protect them even as we fall.
We did not merely drink at her breast
We dug deep into her flesh as well
Unconcerned how we pained her being
We also gave her other children hell
Some among us have felt her pain
And tried to comfort her in some ways
But most of us haven’t cared a bit
And merely lived a life that’s crazed.
It’s time to stop and gather ourselves
And make peace within and others, too.
It’s time to seek out our highest selves
For that’s the very least we must now do.
Weeks and months will roll quickly by
And before we know it, it’ll be time to die
There may be few who’ll be left say goodbye
And fewer still who’ll shed a tear or cry.
