Those Momentous Choices

Sometimes life throws us in a position
Where, in a moment, we must choose -
If the choice we make is good
We win - otherwise we lose.
The victory often appears to be a loss
While the loss might look like a win
But it’s only the one who’s made the choice
Who understands the truth well within.
Sometimes that decision affects many lives
And is part of a bigger battle being raged
Where, unwittingly, one becomes a soldier
On a field where it has been staged.
But making the right choice is not easy
And it needs a long preparation inside -
Just as a warrior must learn his skills
This soldier, too, must before he can decide.
Most human beings that have ever lived
Have faced these moment while here -
And, their choice was surely influenced
By how they’d fought and overcome fear.
