There’s Some Good in Bad, too

There’s a little universe inside my body

With trillions of cells, microbes and germs;

Each one does its thing while there

Until the end of its life, its term.

There are cells and microbes that work

To help keep my body in good health

And there are also those that cause me harm

But even those are like wealth.

If there was nothing that threatened my health

A system inside would turn weak or die

And so even those things are good for me;

I think you understand that and why.

Like our cells, we too, are part of a greater being

Where some work to keep it healthy and strong

And there are also those that cause hurt;

Perhaps, they’re really not all wrong.

They, too, serve a purpose in what they do

But that doesn’t mean they mustn’t be stopped;

They will do what they’re tasked to do

Until their time is up and they too are lopped.
