The Test of Spirit

There are some among us Blessed with an incredible spirit For they are never depressed or down And smile through life’s hardest hit. There are some among us That are blessed even more than them For though not born with such a spirit They transform a rough life into a gem. Each moment in life is a unique chance To create miracles unlike any before And though they find themselves stuck They manage even to hack out a door. No matter how bad the present may look It’s really much better than what could have been And those that understand the magic of life See more reasons to be happy than others have seen. And it’s because of how they look at life That life’s greatest treasures fall at their feet And they are therefore the most blessed ones For though they are down, they’re never beat. Life has given them a hard test to pass And they’ve more than just passed the test And so life must test them in a different way By offering them its very best.
