The Secret of Devi Corona(virus)

When Shiv and Shakti are together, creation happens, life begins. Shakti, the divine goddess has innumerable manifestations, ‘roops’. Recently, she donned the roop of what is commonly called coronavirus, COVID-19, Wuhan virus, NCP etc. A goddess may be feared or she may be worshipped. But more importantly, her strength, energy and power must be acknowledged. Not doing so will mean having to bear the full brunt of her fury. A goddess, like Mahakali, can be fierce, furious, ferocious and terrifying. And, she can equally be a mother, kind, loving, giving and sustaining when won over with love and devotion. Devi Corona wears a crown but it’s not a crown she dons with pride. It’s her crown of thorns and she wears it to tear into pieces the pride of those who have belittled, battered and bruised her dear Child, Mother Earth and her many children. Ever since Devi Corona descended and humans who became a virus on Mother Earth have started facing her fury, things have started becoming better for our mother. We are hurting Mother Earth and her children a lot less than we have been doing, the air is fresher, cleaner and nature seems to be smiling with a sense of relief. If we begin to propitiate Devi Corona, not by making offerings stolen from Mother Earth but with things mined from within our beings, she will surely begin to reduce her fury. And, maybe she will retreat, giving us a chance to reassess our behavior and change ourselves. We may begin by praying and meditating for the health and rejuvenation of Mother Earth and her numerous children that we broadly call Nature. We must make offerings to Devi Corona of our pride, greed and covetousness. For long our minds have been obsessed with our needs, pleasures, ambitions, power, greed, covetousness and so on. These are the things we need to offer Devi Corona and fill ourselves with gratitude, love and compassion for Mother Earth and all her children. Then, if Devi Corona is propitiated she, too, will become like a mother to us and provide us the means to detox ourselves so we live as purer, happier and compassionate beings on the bosom of Mother Earth. And, Devi Corona will need no more to be feared.
