The Ever-present Moment

Life spins out of the present moment

And the present moment rolls endlessly on

And in the silent rolling moment

Things spring out and are gone.

The present moment cannot be dislodged

From the throne of life on earth

But the present moment’s a subtle thing,

Not a giant with a gargantuan girth.

The present moment is always here

And it’s there and everywhere else, too

But when we’re present wherever we are

We know exactly what we must do.

The now unveils its treasures to all

Who accept whatever it brings along -

That when one’s steps move to a dance

And the heart breaks out in melodious song.

The present moment speaks to the heart

For the heart alone knows what it says

But those who’ve been corrupted by a virus

In the mind, struggle through their days.
