Problems Are an Opportunity

Lies are a shortcut solution

To difficulties that we must face

And when we take that path

We weaken our personality at its base.

Difficulties are an opportunity to rise

Even when we seem to lose -

Life is an amazing journey within,

Not a drunken, bacchanalian cruise.

When we face difficulties and problems

That life invariably throws our way,

It does so that we choose with care

And not allow ourselves be led astray.

Difficulties and problems are really tests

For us to learn from and graduate to a higher class -

Its results are not on the outside as much

As they are inside - where we must pass.

The examiner, exam and examinee

Are all rolled into into just one -

That’s where the setting can be seen

And that’s where will rise the sun.

Let others judge us as they will,

With kindness or in other ways -

Our life is meant for us to use well

So we discover our truth before the end of our days.

Next time a problem presents itself

Let’s not be scared into lowering ourselves,

Let’s face it calmly and do our best

To fish out our courage wherever it delves.
