Power of the Moment

How do I accept you, moment -

You change faster than thought?

How can I hold you, moment -

Immutable now, then suddenly nought?

How real are you, moment -

What is it that you’re made of?

One second you look a hungry tiger,

The next a gentle, harmless dove.

You are strange like a ghost

That’s only as real as my imagination -

Yet you hold the world in thrall

In utter and absolute subjugation.

Isolated, perhaps, you can’t do much

But your power comes from your flow -

That’s what no one can withstand

And that’s what we really need to know.

Though you’re really nothing and less

Your power is greater than gravity -

That’s why one needs to bow his head

And appreciate your strength and sanctity.
