Losing Weight

I never tried to lose my weight So my weight grew tired of me And seeing that it got no attention It began to move away from me I merely ate and exercised and lived my life In the way that I saw as best So I followed the wisdom of the east And forsake the fads out of the west As I moved my mind eastward And imbibed its gentle ways I become much calmer and relaxed And did what I loved through the days I stopped running after money and things But I chased my deeper dream And so I learned to watch my breath and mind Which was much easier than might first seem The watching revealed some secrets that lay In the laps of both mind and breath And sometimes I became quite still As one becomes in the arms of death As my weight leaves me slowly now It takes away a lot else I don’t need For one lives best when one is light And unburdened by silly cares and greed. - rajyogi
