Just Two Directions

Why must one ever feel lost,

What is there that can confound?

In the end,

In the very end

There’s really only two directions -

One leads up, the other down.

The way up is via the way down

And the way down is via what seems up.

The pretender is weighed down by its own weight

And it exerts pressure where it can.

But once one merely decides to let go

The pretender will begin to lose some ground

And unburdened by the pretender’s weight

The way up will open and he will be crowned.
