Isolation, Loneliness and Karma - Some Thoughts

While people live in proximity to each other, interests, passions, agendas and most of all egos get entangled. Each such entanglement stores an amount of energy and as that energy is played out these entanglements can either exhaust their energy or enhance it and that can begin to ensnare them further.

As you withdraw from people and society they give you less thought and less energy - both positive and negative. This happens because you’re not affecting their lives with your interactions with them, positively or negatively. And, more importantly, egos have a lesser chance to tango with each other.

That’s a good thing because that means your karmic connections are getting dissolved. And, as these karmic connections dissolve moksha, nirvana or shunyata takes a big step closer.

That’s the reason why many people on the spiritual path begin to move away and into progressively greater isolation. This may not necessarily be a conscious or thought-out and planned strategy but just the way their own energy acts and gets them to act.

Next time you’re alone and lonely, take cognizance of the fact that you may have made subtle shifts in your lifestyle and life goals and they require you to go through isolation...not to cause you pain but to give you the space to go deeper so you gain the clarity needed for your life ahead.
