Gifts Not Taken

There are gifts

That don’t get taken

For gifts are valued

When a value is attached

And value is only attached

When endorsed by those in power

There are gifts

That don’t get taken

For they were given

Like offerings given to Shiva,

Not packed or packaged

But simply offered

There are gifts

That don’t get taken

For the giver of gifts

Is anonymous and poor

There are gifts

That don’t get taken...
