Faith in Knowing What Must Be Known

It’s not for nothing that faith’s been attacked,

It’s not for nothing that belief’s demeaned

For those are life’s most nourishing teats

From which the monsters want us weaned

Those that suckle at these teats

Are strengthened beyond compare;

The enemies can not ever attack

And usually they do not dare

Those who are blessed to feed the soul

At these teats where life blesses its own

Will grow in the knowing that only comes

When the knower becomes part of what is known
