Alchemy

Alchemy is turning the dross of the mind

Into something that shines and glows;

That is where the greatest poverty resides

And that is where the true wealth grows.

When the dirt in the mind is slowly turned

Into gold that shines and glows

A certain magic begins to happen

That the seeker alone finds and knows.

They are fools who look for gold outside

When they have the tools to produce it inside -

The mine within will yield its wealth

When you pick the shovel to cast dirt aside.

Alchemy is using the power of our creator

Who poured himself into us all -

But we turned away from him

And began to respond to another’s call.
