Affectation

Affectation is an affliction,

A disease that leaves deep sores

Not on the skin or flesh or bones

But deep, very deep inside the very core.

Affectation begins in the mind

But blisters down to the soul

Robbing one of his peace and calm

And leaving him less than complete or whole.
