A Time For Change

It’s time to distance our bodies much

But our hearts must come closer still

And it’s not what I have to say

It seems it’s our maker’s will

Bodies must grow distant that we stay safe

But hearts must come closer for strength

Perhaps, the time has also come

That shortens something by quite a length

As bodies grow distant and hearts come close

We might gain some insights that we didn’t so far

For each chapter must close with a test

To assess how we’re ready to cross the bar

We must begin to melt what’s hard inside

But the outside must be hard and strong

For temple bells have stopped tinkling

And, instead they’re sounding the gong.

Some changes come slow and some come fast

But big changes are now at hand

There’s no need to start losing one’s mind

But it’s also time to bring heads out from the sand.

There’s an opportunity now to set some things right

And it comes with time to work on our inner being

For long we’ve lived life with blinded sights

And we must begin to again start seeing.
